Minimum Requirements

Qualification(s):  

B Degree Technical Electrical Engineering at NQF 7 level with 360 credits or a
B. Tech Technical Electrical Engineering at NQF 7 level with 360 credits or a
National Higher Diploma Technical Electrical Engineering at NQF 7 level with 360 credits.

Experience:

10 years’ extensive experience in research, testing, development, plant design integration and engineering management of major projects.
Technical and Technology leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Directs research, engineering, and technology for the specific CoE within power delivery.
Lead the specific Centres of Excellence in delivering exceptional research, engineering services (including design, applications, and technical support).
Maintains technical integrity of the research during the research, testing and development phases and ensures that research operations adheres to the relevant governance.
Provides specialist strategic advice, for functional and technological innovations that have to be taken in pursuing organisational objectives and positioning Eskom for sustained success.
Manages the transmission and distribution research Centres of Excellence, including external resources, focusing on performance, development, and harmonisation.
